The KB3GUN Link

We are EchoLink Node # 23115 and located in Somerset County, PA. We operate over the WR3AJL Repeater on 146.625- with a PL of 123Hz.

Welcome to the KB3GUN Link information site.

The purpose of these pages will be to help amateurs within the range of the WR3AJL repeater use our EchoLink node via the radio.

What is EchoLink?

EchoLink is software which allows Amateur Radio stations to communicate with one another over the Internet, using voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology. The program allows worldwide connections to be made between stations, from computer to station, or from computer to computer. You can download the software for free from http://www.echolink.org and all you need is a dial-up connection to start talking. If you’re within range of the WR3AJL repeater, you don’t even need a computer to work with EchoLink.

The KB3GUN-L (link)

KB3GUN-L(ink) is linked to the WR3AJL repeater on 146.625-. My system consists of an Icom IC-V8000 and a 5 element yagi (for linking to the repeater), hooked thru a ULI interface to a 550mHz PC running Win98SE and EchoLink. The PC is connected to the Internet via a DSL connection. The link operates 24/7. A 220 Mhz linking system is in the works

Listen to ‘Amateur Radio Newsline’ every Wednesday evening at 7PM EST on the WR3AJL Repeater. Sponsored by the KB3GUN Link and the Allegheny Highlands Repeater Association.

This is the KB3GUN-Link EchoLink system (rf node).

This EchoLink station will also be used for ARES/Skywarn emergencies to link to the NWS at State College and other emergency service groups (under development).
