I borrowed my cargo box design from Corey on the FJ forums. It’s 37” x 27” x 12”. It’ll hold everything I need, and then some. It has a light coating of lacquer on it for now, but I plan on darkening the front face and carpeting the rest of the box. Is it too big? Well, it does fill up the cargo space, but I still have room around the box for extraneous items such as a CO2 tank, camping gear, etc. I still have all the back seat area for storage if needed too. I think it makes a great addition to the FJ.

In the next few weeks, I’ll figure out a good way to secure it to the floor.

Notice the axe mounted to the door? I got that idea from Dvan on the FJ Forums. It’s out of the way, but easy to access.

Finally got it stained, latched and carpeted.

I used nylon covered cable and turn-buckles to hold it down. I had to loosen and turn the tiedown brackets on the floor. It fits great and isn’t going anywhere. Now all I need to do is fill it up. That shouldn’t be too hard... :)
